They vary in size and shape. Generally, they are large enough to accommodate an editor and a producer.
What is a DCP?
A Digital Cinema Package (DCP) is a collection of digital files used to store and convey a Digital Cinema (DC) movie image and content i.e. picture, sound, subtitles & metadata, packaged together on a encrypted hard-drive for playback on a Digital Cinema Theater system. It is the digital equivalent of a film print that has served as our industries standard for theater projection years. DCP’s are created following the strict guidelines set out in the Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI). This is done to insure compatibility with all Digital Cinema equipment. Not every theater can utilize DCP technologies and you should consult you distribution partner to ensure compliance.
If I don't have a DCP, can I still screen a feature?
Of course! We can playback from any number of formats like tape, QuickTime, AVI, Avid media, DVD, Blu-ray...call us, we'll help you figure out the best solution.
How do I know what to send you?
There are many types of specifications and guides we need to understand before advising you on how to deliver us something to work with. A general good practice is to consider the delivery format that you need, and the format you'd like to preserve the project as. In some cases, the delivery specification is all that is needed. However, please consult us on what you need and how you are planning or currently working and we'll adapt a solution for you.
